Progreso workers select grapefruit in their facilities in Oxkuztcab Yucatán

With a direct route to Progreso-Holanda through Seatrade shipping company, 10 thousand tons of red grapefruit and persian lemon citrics will be exported.

The first movement of grapefruit will begin between August 26th and 27th, with 2 thousand pallets, the frequency of the route will be of every 12 days.

The distribution center will be Holland, transporting the citrics by land to the European final consumers: France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Holand, England and Italy, purchasing countries that position Yucatan as the number one red grapefruit exporter nationwide in 2005, with a movement of 6,400 tons.

This year the exports are being consolidated, with the opening of the Eastern Europe markets: Russian and Poland, as well as Northern Europe: Norway and Finland and Central Europe: Slovenia, Hungary and the Czech Republic

The Refrigerated Storage service of the Port, managed by Interalta since 2004, fosters this exchange of citrics harvested in Oxkuztcab, Yucatan to the before mentioned destinations.

In September we will begin the exportation of octopus with the same shipping company Seatrade and in direct route from Progreso to Europe.
